Let's start talking about you

Enough about me.

Over the next few months, on this blog and on the other two that I hope you'll visit, I will be trying to maintain your interest. That certainly doesn't mean writing about myself and my family all the time.

I want to know about YOU.

Let's start with something interesting, something more than just where we live, what we do and what has happened to us.

What's the most wonderful place you ever visited?

The picture tells you mine.

Now let's hear from y'all.

By far most favorite trip was to Africa. Beautiful, wild, volatile...just like you would imagine. Experienced one the most frightening flash floods, lightning, hail the size of softballs, discovering a boomshlang on the nightstand next to my head in the middle of the night(I know I spelled that incorrectly, but it is an african tree snake; jade in color and one of the most deadly of snakes--all the blood in your body coagulates within 30 minutes). I could go on and on.

St. Croix - where I spent 3 weeks with Bill "Willie" Thomas in the middle 70's. Believe me; it's just beautiful. Willie still lives there.

Just in case the picture doesn't tell the story, it's beautiful Moorea, the next island over from Tahiti. Nicole and I visited in 1999.

Three of my favorites: One, St. Croix in the 70’s, parking the rental car on the beach, falling asleep and awakening to the tide breaking on the side door. When we finally were able to get the car towed out, it was 6:00 AM. In St. Croix we had a first-ever ride in a sea plane. Rough take off but the landing at St. Thomas was like landing on a pillow.

Two, waking up to the sunrise at the crest of the Grand Canyon, and hiking through it, well, it’s just a remarkably humbling and spiritual experience.

Lastly, taking a cruise down the Blue Ridge Parkway to Ashville, NC, or busting through a tight turn on a country road headed to the Finger Lakes of NY, with your son and best friend, well, can it get much better!!
